What is gardening perfection? Their lives are so short. They arrive for only a matter of weeks, eating our gardens, destroying our trees, making holes in everything we see. They are beautiful and destructive, and also essential if we want the end result: lovely, graceful butterflies filling our gardens with color and life.
This is the first variation of my Future Butterfly series.
Future Butterfly I

Unframed: 18 inches x 14 inches x 1/2 inch (at highest point) (45.72cm x 35.56cm x 1.27cm). (Unframed includes the beaded matting. The actual image is 10 1.2 x 13 1/2 inches (26.67cm x 34.29cm.)
Done in a color-block style, "Future Butterfly I" is made using Miyuki Delicas in a variety of colors, as well as other Miyuki beads providing the variation in surfaces and textures. The beads are of different sizes, thus providing depth and texture naturally, depending on the type of bead used. Each bead is individually placed by the artist, Katharine Claringbould. It is mounted in a classic black frame and is ready to hang. The artwork (not the frame) is sealed, so it is safe to touch and handle.
