I always love the interplay of colors that one finds in nature, and so it is with the beaches in Western Australia where the desert meets the ocean. Deep reds, oranges and browns meeting the ever changing blues and greens of the sea.
Using a new bead laying style, I wanted to experiment with whether color and transitions between color were sufficient on their own to enable the landscape to be identified and enjoyed.
Framed: 11.5 inches x 9.5 inches x 2 inches (29.21cm x 24.13cm x 5.08cm)
Unframed: 10 inches x 8 inches (25.4cm x 20.32cm)
"Abstract Landscape" is made using Miyuki Delicas in a variety of colors, providing the variation in surfaces and textures. It is a 2D piece with each bead individually placed by Katharine Claringbould. It is mounted in a maple floating frame and is ready to hang. The artwork (not the frame) is sealed, so it is safe to touch and handle.
