Meaning:

Based on how often I learnt mathematical tables one could argue that repetition creates the best memories. Yet my favorite and most memorable childhood memories are those that shine like pearls. They are uncommon enough to be incredibly special. Stored and treasured to be explored at times when the world is quiet. In order of magnitude, the days I spent at the beach were rare, a week here, a day there; never too long, often too short. Yet those water based memories are bright, brighter than the other days that surround them.

Meaning:

Every night they look out the window at the sunset in front of them. The colors endlessly varying stretch out before them: reds, golds, oranges and blues of the sky offset by varying shades of green below. On one visit to see them I snapped a photo which became a very early painting of mine. It went to live with them for the longest time until one day I was asked if I could turn two thirds of it into a bead mosaic. The only part that would remain of the original painting was that red, orange, gold sky. A sky they had often seen before.

Meaning:

I am an explorer. I travel the world seeking adventure and new experiences. Like all travelers I pack light, but on my back you will find all that I need for the journey. I know that at times travel will be difficult, that the currents will not always flow in my favor, that sometimes I will need to retreat and wait out a passing storm. Yet I also know that those days are temporary and that most of my travels will be me exploring the seas with my head held high.
